Mark Your Calendars for Blues on the Fox, June 19-20

What - another free blues festival in Chicagoland in June? You betcha. Blues on the Fox in the western suburb of Aurora, will take place on June 19 & 20, the weekend after the Chicago Blues Festival.

Here's the lineup:

Friday, June 19

6:45 - Big James the Chicago Playboys
8:45 - Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam

Saturday, June 20

2 p.m. - Hix Brothers Junior All Stars
3 p.m. - Henry Butler
4:15 p.m. - Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm
5:30 p.m. - Sugar Blue
7 p.m. - Watermelon Slim & the Workers
8:30 p.m. - Los Lobos

This is a first-class festival celebrating an important era in blues history. The Bluebird record label recorded many famous bluesmen at the Leland Hotel in the City of Aurora. The building still stands, though it is a private apartment building now.
