2009 Chicago Blues Festival Coverage and Reviews

I'll be covering the Chicago Blues Festival and posting here as much as I'm able. The City of Chicago Mayor's Office of Special Events does not issue media credentials to bloggers, unfortunately. However, if you represent a media organization or publication, and you would like a story, please email me. I may be able to get credentials through your organization, and I'll swap you a free story for it. (Otherwise, I write for pay. I'm cheap, but not free. Ha-ha!)

Also, if you are a musician or representative of a musician who will be performing at the festival or one of the clubs during the festival, and you would like some free publicity, please contact me to arrange an interview.

I will not be available for the festival on Saturday late afternoon (June 13) because I will be participating in the Drinking and Writing Festival at the Hopleaf Bar in Chicago. If you're in the area, stop and say hi. (Autographed copies of Today's Chicago Blues
will also be for sale.) I'll be talking about the blues and Chicago at 3 p.m. and taking part in a panel discussion at 4 p.m. Good beer, as I understand.

By the way, if you coming to Chicago from out of town, Today's Chicago Blues will be a great guide for you. There have been a few changes since it was published (clubs have closed; others have opened), but it's still a generally good all-around guide.
